The boys from Braintree, Massachusetts, are back on the diamond early this morning following their big win Saturday evening to advance in the Little League World Series tournament.
Braintree American is set to face Bonney Lake Sumner Little League from the Northwest region at 9 a.m. at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in another elimination game.

It’s a short turnaround for the Braintree Little Leaguers, made even shorter by a nearly 90-minute delay on Saturday. The game was set to start at 3 p.m., but it was delayed until 4:29 p.m.
Braintree fell into an early 2-0 deficit but came storming back with a flurry of runs in to beat Texas 7-3 and to advance in the tournament.
It was the first World Series victory in program history for Braintree American, which needed a win in Saturday’s elimination bracket game to stay alive in the tournament after their 13-0 loss to South Carolina in their debut on Thursday.

The first couple days of the tournament were not particularly competitive, with the eight winning teams scoring a combined 59 runs compared to just three for the losing teams.
The boys’ families have said they are proud of everything the team has accomplished this summer, regardless of the outcome of the tournament.
