The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles are tied 1-1 in the 2025 World Series after splitting the first two games at Rogers Centre. The series shifts to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for tonight’s pivotal Game 3.

So far, this is going exactly as Max Scherzer’s last start went. He let up a homer to Josh Naylor in the bottom of the second in ALCS Game 4 to fall down 1-0.
The Jays then scored eight runs for an easy win. Not that simple against Tyler Glasnow, though.

The Dodgers have scored first (and within the first two innings) in each of the first three games of this World Series. The big thing will be adding on – the Dodgers last scored more than five runs in a game in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series…nearly a month ago.

Teo is the ultimate “give up one, drive in two” kind of guy. Tons of big postseason homers.
Not only was Teoscar Hernández coming off a rough Game 2, he was 1-for-7 with five strikeouts in his career against Max Scherzer.
Teoscar Hernández was 0 for 4 with 4 strikeouts in Game 2 — something that hadn’t been done in the World Series since 2017, when Cody Bellinger did it (twice) for the Dodgers. Hernández just recovered in a big way with that home run.

The Dodgers haven't hit the ball over the fence quite as well as they did last October. That was just their 17th blast in 13 games, after 27 in 16 games last postseason. And Teoscar Hernández hit that ball way, way over the fence.

That pickoff wouldn’t happen in an ABS challenge system, either! Daulton Varsho surely would’ve challenged, and the ball four would’ve given Bo Bichette second base. Something to keep in mind.
Not something an umpire wants to have happen, as it can take you out of your rhythm a little bit and you have to fight for that not to happen. It’s so mental. You mentally have to be letting go of whatever awkwardness had just happened. Let it go. Kind of like a player, you boot a double-play ball you can’t dwell on it because the next one’s coming at you.

That’s a really bad look for umpire Mark Wegner. The strike call was obviously wrong, so Daulton Varsho should have been walked. But Wegner obviously didn’t communicate clearly enough for Varsho to know it wasn’t ball 4.
I can’t fault Bo Bichette for drifting off the base after Varsho started moving towards first.
Well, the Dodgers just got saved a run out of that whole ordeal. Bo Bichette would’ve easily scored on Alejandro Kirk’s single otherwise.

That’s the umpire’s fault. Late call that’s quiet. Especially when it’s loud, can’t happen. Joe West used to have a call like that where you had to ask if he called a strike because you couldn’t hear it.

Mark has a bit of a slow signal, but he voices the pitch beforehand. Obviously, the hitter thought it was a ball four and started walking away. I think the baserunner saw the batter starting to come toward first thought it was a walk also.

Oh wow. Daulton Varsho (correctly) thought it was ball four. Bo Bichette thought it was ball four. Everyone but Mark Wegner thought it was ball four. But the Dodgers caught Bo Bichette napping on the play and got a free out.
