Belgium’s World Cup knockout clash has gone to extra time after Senegal conceded two desperately late goals.
Sunderland’s Habib Diarra opened the scoring early on, before Ismaila Sarr made it two with a thumping second-half strike.
But Romelu Lukaku neatly flicked the ball home to halve the deficit, before Belgium skipper Youri Tielemans headed in the equaliser with just minutes remaining.
The winners of today’s game will face either the USMNT or Bosnia and Herzegovina next.

114’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
The Belgium fans have gone very quiet again. There are nails being bitten with Senegal looking more threatening the longer extra time goes on.
112’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Courtois holds but that was a decent low strike from Sapoko Ndiaye.
Time is running out.
110’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Amadou Onana will be the final substitution in this match. He was born in Senegal but lived in Belgium from the age of 11. This has to feel a bit surreal for the Aston Villa man.
109’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Off comes Trossard, on comes Onana for Belgium.
109’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Heartbreakingly close for Mbaye!
He opens his boot to try and bend a cut back into the top corner and it skews just wide of the post.
That is the closest we have come.
107’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Both sides have to be thinking about penalties now. This would be the third penalty shootout already in this tournament.
The most shootouts in one edition of a World Cup was 5, in Qatar four years ago. We obviously have the extra round of 32 this time around, but it's already looking like that record could go.
107’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
When I say wide, I mean it as Raskin rises to a looping cross and heads it somewhere half way between the frame of the goal and the corner flag.
It'll need to be better than that.
106’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
It all comes down to this…
That’s half-time!
15 more minutes for someone to come up with a winner here or we are going to penalties.

105’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Trossard won't want to see that one again as he switches the ball cross field and it lands directly at the feet of a Senegal player.
Luckily, Belgium win the ball back pretty quickly.
Not a high-quality affair since the restart.
102’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
After the hectic end to the match, this has not been the most entertaining of starts to extra time.
Neither side wants to make a mistake.
100’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
This has been attritional since the restart — no clear-cut chances to report as Belgium enjoy a decent foray forward only to see the ball cut out by a green shirt.
98’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Whenever Charles De Ketelaere has started for Belgium at this World Cup, they have looked completely toothless in attack.
That has changed every time Romelu Lukaku has been on the pitch. His work in attack set the platform for Belgium to stage that late comeback and it was his lovely finish that halved the deficit.
If it goes to a penalty shootout, expect Belgium's record goalscorer to take one of the first few.
96’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Yet more fresh legs for Senegal as Gana Gueye heads off and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye comes on.
94’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Both sides will be allowed one extra substitute in extra time. Belgium used all five of theirs in regular time as they tried to get back into the match, but Senegal only made three changes in the first 90 minutes.
So they will have a bit of an advantage and maybe some fresher legs.
94’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Off come Mane and Jakobs for Jackson and Diouf.
93’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
At the end of the regulation 90 minutes they were playing Jump Around by House of Pain, probably directed at Senegal keeper Diaw who just didn't jump high enough for that shock equaliser.
91’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
The United States and Bosnia will be delighted to see this match go the distance. Every bit of recovery time makes a difference.
A reminder that the winner here will face one of those sides back here in Seattle in the round of 16 on Monday.
91’ Belgium 2-2 Senegal
Here we go then for another 30 minutes of football in the hope of finding a winner here…
