Top finance and central bank leaders from the world’s 20 largest economies, known as the Group of 20, will gather in Asheville from late August to Sept. 1, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced Feb. 19.
As part of the G20 Finance Track, finance ministers, the governors of the central bank, their deputies and various working groups meet to discuss the world’s macroeconomic issues. This year, Asheville will host the finance ministers and central bank governors of the member countries from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said in the announcement. The conference will follow a deputies meeting in the city from Aug. 29 to Aug. 30.
“The selection of historic Asheville reflects the Trump Administration’s commitment to the revitalization and resilience of western North Carolina, which continues to rebuild after the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene,” Bessent said in the news release.
Bessent said the Treasury Department, in coordination with the State Department, will execute President Donald Trump’s agenda for the G20, listing the following priorities:

Trump will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit on Dec. 14-15 at the Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, the statement said.
