Al Ahly vs Inter Miami LIVE
The revamped Club World Cup is underway as Al Ahly and Inter Miami meet in a Group A showdown. FIFA have expanded the format of the competition to include 32 club teams from across the various federations, and the very first game will feature Lionel Messi.
Having joined the MLS (Major League Soccer) franchise just under two years ago, the Argentine superstar has shown little signs of slowing down despite his age. That said, despite being one of several high-profile names in the Inter Miami squad, they face a daunting task against the most dominant team in Africa. Al Ahly are 12-time winners of the CAF Champions League, emerging victorious in four of the last six seasons.
This marks Egyptian outfit’s 10th appearance in the Club World Cup, finishing third on three separate occasions – the last being in 2023 when they beat Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan. Meanwhile, Inter Miami are making their debut in the competition which means the contrast of experience could play a big role at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. 56 min: Good play between Suarez and Segovia to find Messi in a bit of space, the Inter Miami captain works the ball onto his left foot and looks to bend one into the net but El Shenawy is equal to the effort.
55 min: Credit to Inter Miami, Javier Mascherano has clearly made a tweak at half-time as his side aren’t getting caught in transition as much as they were in the first-half.

As Messi and Suarez make their way back out to the pitch, they exchange embraces with Pepe, Youri Djorkaeff and Alessandro Del Piero.

How Al Ahly are not in front isn’t a mystery, Oscar Ustari has been superb for Inter Miami.
The goalkeeper has made at least three superb saves, including a penalty stop to deny Trezeguet.
