December 3, 2025 by quixnet

This season is about growth, fight, and proving that Leicester Tigers Women are here to do more than just take part. We’re here to surprise people. And with this team, and this club behind us, the belief is real.
Joe Schmidt has given plenty of players opportunities; his successor needs to give them the experience to become genuine Test players.
Rugby fans from around the world will soon discover who their favourite team will be playing at Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia.
The draw for the 11th edition of the tournament takes place today (Wednesday 3 December) at 09:00 GMT and can be watched live on RugbyPass TV, as well as on World Rugby’s YouTube channel and Stan Sport, 9Gem and 9Now in Australia.
As the host nation, Australia will be allocated a spot in Pool A, but the rest of the line-up will be unknown until the first teams are drawn.

World Rugby Chair Brett Robinson will be joined on stage by former Rugby World Cup winner and All Blacks legend Dan Carter, Australia’s most-capped male player, James Slipper, and Australian Olympics gold medallist, Alicia Lucas.
Each of the six pools will feature a team from Bands 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The confirmed Bands based on rankings are as follows:

Fans will have an opportunity to secure seats for RWC 2027 during an exclusive two-week presale window starting on 18 February 2026 at 12:00 AEDT (GMT +11). Fans must create a ticketing account no later than 24 hours before to be eligible to enter the presale.
For more news and information, including how to access tickets in the presale and secure your tickets, visit rugbyworldcup.com/2027.
The schedule for RWC 2027 will be made available on 3 February, 2026.
The idea of South Africa fearing anyone heading into the 2027 Rugby World Cup seems a touch ridiculous, given the way they have performed since lifting the Webb Ellis Cup in 2023.

The Springboks centre-cum-flanker is a sequel to Levani Botia, but with a new visionary creative director in Svengali Rassie Erasmus.
With a core of key players who will be 35 or more at RWC27, Ireland’s ageing squad are balanced on a knife-edge.
Yes not blooding other 10s is the failing. SR has played a part too, with older guys never replaced so younger guys spend way to much time off the bench, and often at 15 or wing so the starting 10 can stay on the field.

Hard to believe DC and BB were Jacombs and Reihanas age bow when both won their first world poty.

…

Cheers Mizz, and thanks another great comment as yours often are.

The Giteau Law thing, and overseas selection in general, is an interesting beast. Very easy and logical on paper, but as the Skelton-JOC-Ikitau episodes just last month showed, it’s not often as easy in practice. I’m open-minded, but skeptical.

…

I’d be inclined to agree to be honest. Top tier “essential” All Blacks like McCaw and Carter and anyone else who were captains were getting a million a year and that amount has gone up. To quote Gregor Paul from a Herald Premium article:

A four-year contract that comes with a sabbatical clause for a senior player on the highest pay band is estimated to be worth a total of between $6.5m to $7m.

…

Are you still out to pick that fight?

No.. wasn’t born that stupid like you, luckily.

Is dropping someone on their head just as bad as eye gouging? Is that a South African thing or just a Ninjin thing? 😁😁😁

…

Moananu was generating quite the buzz midway through the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, with a stretch of four tries in three games

It wasn’t the the tries. Moananu’s stats this year were as good (we don’t get lineout throws) Codie Taylors. He was a bit better on attack, and Codie a bit more present on defence, while being highly involved at ruck time.

…

Oh they will. It won’t be a surprise to anyone.

I’ve not met an owner that made money from it, it’s usually always one way traffic in the red and I think the fans often forget quite how much money these people have been contributing to keep the clubs going.

Tbh l was never a big fan of Moungas, he did an alright job but is no DC or Beauden in his prime. We can only hope that he’s become more experienced/better player from his time in Japan cause unless they blood another couple of young 1st 5s Reihana/Jacomb? we haven't got a hope in hell next WC

Were you dropped on your head as a child or were you born this stupid?

No thanks. I’m fine.

That’s how it looks at the moment but there is an awful lot of experience with Pollard to see out those final 20 mins and the option of those accurate 50m penalties is a benefit few people would leave out.

He was the perfect partner for Marcus.

It gave Marcus a fraction more space and the defence never knew if he would offload to Andrew at the last moment, so they had to deal with both threats.

…

Please go away thank you.

That has to be a big part of it especially with Sacha FM playing plenty and even Rassie likes to make sure you have experience around and one things for sure those 2 have felt the heat in the kitchen when the Bok forwards are not getting it all their own way

Sorry to hear that Ninjin

2018 eh. Thats when Mounga started making the team and Hansen moved BB to 15. Then Dmac did his Achilles in SR in 2019 and we had Mounga, sadly. Team dropped off in performance from that point on.

You can see the difference physically, especially with players like Chessum, Earl, T Willis, and the shape IFW is looking in this season (bigger) and we look much sharper in the final 20 mins that we did last season, so I think it’s more tangible, rather than perception.

LCD has also dropped some size but has increased his mobility, so there is definately something that it causing these changes.

…

Nope, what you can't take is the truth about what happened before the ‘gouging’. Typical anti-Bok attitude. ‘Xenophobic slurs?!’ a pathetic insult in itself, but who gives a conditional stuff what you think. I certainly don’t.

Of course I have. Watched Mounga put up rubbish too over 5 years. Havnt watched a Jacomb or Reihana tho have I. Thats he big fail.
